PEI Business Women's Association

We designed and developed a new website for the PEI Business Women’s Association, a community that has been making entrepreneurship less lonely for Island women in business since 1993. The site brings their programs, events, member directory and member portal together around one simple message: if you’re a woman doing business in PEI, you belong here.

PEIBWA supports women and gender-diverse entrepreneurs at every stage of business across Prince Edward Island, from a first idea to a growing company. With hundreds of members and a busy calendar of programs and events, the association needed a website that works as hard as its community. We built a warm, welcoming site that makes it easy to join, find support and connect with other members, while giving the PEIBWA team simple tools to publish programs, events and news and to manage member profiles.

The member directory puts PEIBWA’s community front and centre. Visitors can search hundreds of women-owned businesses and individual members by industry, name or keyword, or filter for members who are available for work. Each business opens into a full profile with its story, contact details, team and social links, making it easy to shop local and find the right woman for the job.

Behind the login, every member gets a home base of their own. The member portal brings their account, notifications and directory profile together with member-only resources, so members can keep their information up to date themselves and the PEIBWA team can spend less time on admin and more time supporting women in business.

A programs hub brings workshops, peer mentorship, micro-grants and one-on-one business development support together in one place, with each opportunity clearly marked as open or closed. The connected events calendar lists networking events, workshops and member showcases in list, month or day views, with category filters and one-click calendar exports.

Many members run their businesses from their phones, so the site is built to work just as smoothly on a small screen. Joining PEIBWA, searching the directory, browsing programs and registering for events all take just a few taps, wherever members happen to be.
