Canada’s Food Island

The Canada’s Food Island website is more than just a digital cookbook; it’s a vibrant community for culinary enthusiasts to explore, share, and celebrate the unique tastes of Prince Edward Island. Our team worked meticulously to create a platform that not only celebrates PEI’s culinary heritage but also provides an engaging and interactive experience for food enthusiasts.

Project Details

We designed this app with adaptability in mind, creating a versatile platform that can be seamlessly repurposed for a variety of festivals and expos. Its flexible framework allows for easy customization to fit the unique needs and themes of different events. This adaptability was applied to the PEI Spirits Festival in November 2023. With some tailored modifications, the app provided a similarly engaging and user-friendly experience for spirit enthusiasts.

Recipe Database

The interactive recipe portal highlights the best recipes PEI has to offer. Main features include the ability for users to leave a rating, adjust ingredients by serving size, and a formatted print-out of the recipe.

Smart Search

Our smart search functionality transforms the way users explore the site. It allows for comprehensive searches across the website, encompassing titles, descriptions, categories, and tags. The real-time autocomplete feature provides immediate search results as users type, enhancing the browsing experience and making it easier to uncover hidden culinary gems.

Account Portal

Understanding the personal nature of cooking, we introduced a user-friendly account portal. Here, users can save their favourite recipes for future reference, submit their own creations, and leave ratings to share their culinary experiences. To streamline the login process, we integrated options for Facebook and Google sign-in, prioritizing convenience and ease of use.
