Websites for Tourism, Festivals & Events

Websites that help visitors discover, plan and book, for festivals, attractions and destinations

From PEI's premier culinary festival to national historic sites, Lake Design builds websites for festivals, events, attractions and tourism destinations. Our work includes the Fall Flavours Food & Drink Festival, PEI Wine Fest, Roma at Three Rivers, Explore Summerside, Port Charlottetown and Taco Battles.

Visitors decide fast, often on their phones. We design mobile-first, bilingual-ready websites with events calendars, ticketing links, trip planners and maps that turn interest into visits and ticket sales.

Roma at Three Rivers

A new brand and bilingual website for a national historic site, with experiences, tickets and admission, donations, heritage trails and a promo video that brings the site to life.

PEI Wine Fest

A custom web app that replaced the printed festival brochure, letting attendees browse, filter and favourite every wine at the event, later adapted for the PEI Spirits Festival.

Explore Summerside

A destination website for "The City by the Sea", helping visitors find where to go, upcoming events and things to do in Summerside, Prince Edward Island.

    What We Build for Tourism

Everything visitors need to discover, plan and book:

    Festival & Event Websites

Events calendars with filters and map views, signature event pages, sponsor showcases and links to your ticketing platform. See our Fall Flavours case study.

    Attractions & Destinations

Websites for attractions, historic sites and destinations, with hours, admission, things to do, trip planners and bilingual content for visitors from across Canada and beyond.

    Photo, Video & Marketing

Event photography, promo videos and social media content to fill your events, plus branding for new festivals.

    Why Event Organizers Choose Us

We know tourism runs on seasons and deadlines. We plan launches around your ticket on-sale dates, build tools your team can update year after year, and design for the phone in a visitor's hand.

Built Around Ticket Sales: Clear calls to action and ticketing links on every event, so interest turns into bookings.

Mobile-First: Most visitors browse and buy on their phones, so every page is designed for small screens first.

Bilingual & Accessible: English and French websites that welcome every visitor, built to accessibility best practices.

Reusable Year After Year: Event and season templates your team can update each year, without rebuilding the site.

    Our Clients

    FAQs

We offer industry experience, down-to-earth & authentic feedback and conversations, and a passion for all things design & web.

Can you build an events calendar with filters and a map?

Yes. For the Fall Flavours Food & Drink Festival we built a custom events calendar with schedule, calendar and map views, plus filters by day and featured ingredient.

Can visitors buy tickets on the website?

Yes. We connect your website to the ticketing or point-of-sale platform you already use, such as Eventbrite or Square, or recommend one, so every event has a clear path to buy.

Can the website be in English and French?

Yes. We've built bilingual sites for Fall Flavours, Roma at Three Rivers and Canada's Food Island. Websites we build can also use Lake Translate, our own translation plugin powered by Google's translation APIs. It covers dozens of languages for visitors from around the world, creates real translated pages (like /fr/) that Google can index, makes it easy to fix any translation by hand, and is included at no extra cost on most sites. Read more about bilingual websites.

Can we reuse the website every year?

Absolutely. We build event, sponsor and season templates so your team can roll the site over each year with new dates, lineups and photos, without starting from scratch.

When should we start our festival website?

Ideally a few months before your ticket on-sale date. That leaves time for design, content and testing before you start promoting. Ask us about timelines for your event.

Do you also offer event photography and promo videos?

Yes. We photograph and film events, create promo videos and produce social media content, like our Summer Sips Showdown shoot for Explore Summerside.

How long does it take to build a website?

Timelines depend on the size & specs of the website project, but here are some general guidelines...

Shopify projects usually take around 4-8 weeks.
WordPress projects usually take a minimum of 6-8 weeks.
Logo Design usually takes a minimum of 3 weeks.

Do you offer support during the festival season?

We do. Our optional support plans keep your site updated, secure and backed up during the busy season, so last-minute changes are handled quickly.
