Websites for Cottages & Vacation Rentals
Websites that help guests choose their stay and book direct, for cottages, campgrounds and vacation rentals
From family-run cottage resorts in Cavendish to a beach campground in New Brunswick, Lake Design builds websites for cottages, campgrounds and vacation rentals across Atlantic Canada and beyond. Our work includes Cavendish Maples Cottages, Cavendish Bosom Buddies, Gagnon Beach Campground and Swept Away Cottages.
Every booking made on your own website is one you don't share with a listing site. We design mobile-first websites with cottage pages, packages, galleries and maps, connected to the booking system you already use, so more guests book with you directly.

What We Build for Cottages
Everything guests need to choose their stay and book with you:
Cottage & Package Pages
Clear pages for every cottage, suite and package, with photos, amenities and a Book Now button right where guests need it. See our Cavendish Maples case study.
Connected to Your Booking System
We connect your website to the booking system you already use, including Cloudbeds, Checkfront, Campspot and Sirvoy, or help you choose one, so availability and bookings stay in one place.
Photo, Video & Branding
Photography and video that make guests picture themselves there, plus logos and branding to match.
Why Cottage Owners Choose Us
We know your season is short and your summers are busy. We plan your website around the off-season, build tools you can update yourself, and design for the guest planning a trip on their phone.
Found in Search: Clear cottage and location pages built with search in mind, so guests can find you directly.
Mobile-First: Many guests plan their getaway on their phones, so every page is designed for small screens first.
Built for Direct Bookings: A Book Now button that's always close, so guests go from browsing to booking in a few taps.
Easy to Update: Change photos, packages and seasonal details yourself, with training included.
Our Clients

FAQs
We offer industry experience, down-to-earth & authentic feedback and conversations, and a passion for all things design & web.
Can you connect our booking system to the website?
Yes. We've connected websites to Cloudbeds, Checkfront, Campspot and Sirvoy, and we're happy to work with the system you already use. Booking can sit right on your site, or Book Now buttons can open a specific cottage in your booking engine.
Can a website help us get more direct bookings?
It can. Guests often find you on a listing site, then look you up by name. A clear website with easy booking gives them a good reason to book with you. It won't replace listing sites overnight, but every direct booking is one you don't share.
Can the website be in English and French?
Yes. Cavendish Maples and Cavendish Bosom Buddies both offer English and French. For WordPress sites, we also offer Lake Translate, our own translation plugin powered by Google's AI, on a yearly plan. It covers 24 languages for visitors from around the world, creates real translated pages (like /fr/) that Google can index, and makes it easy to fix any translation by hand. Read more about bilingual websites.
We don't have good photos of our cottages. Can you help?
Absolutely. We offer professional photography and video of your property, so guests can see exactly what to expect. Good photos are often what turns a browser into a booking.
Can we update our own rates and packages?
Yes. We build your website so you can change photos, packages and seasonal details yourself, and training is included. Rates and availability stay in your booking system, so you only manage them in one place.
When should we start on a new website?
The off-season is ideal. Starting a few months before your bookings open leaves time for design, content, photos and testing, so your new site is ready when guests start planning.
How long does it take to build a website?
Timelines depend on the size & specs of the website project, but here are some general guidelines...
Shopify projects usually take around 4-8 weeks.
WordPress projects usually take a minimum of 6-8 weeks.
Logo Design usually takes a minimum of 3 weeks.
Do you offer support during the busy season?
We do. Our optional support plans keep your site updated, secure and backed up through the summer, so changes are handled quickly and you can stay focused on your guests.
